Offered for sale is this complete and early example of the Pattern 1879 Martini-Henry Artillery Carbine Sword Bayonet. The fullered blade is 655 mm long, with prominent serrations along the top. Stamped to the recasse is the date 12/78. The opposite side is clearly stamped with WD plus arrow, and an Inspector The blade is intact, with no pitting, and only slight staining, with no damage to the spear point bladed edges. It is otherwise in excellent condition. With an original Leather Scabbard with metal Mounts.

Offered for sale is this complete and early example of the Pattern 1879 Martini-Henry Artillery Carbine Sword Bayonet. The fullered blade is 655 mm long, with prominent serrations along the top. Stamped to the recasse is the date 12/78. The opposite side is clearly stamped with WD plus arrow, and an Inspectors mark. The blade is intact, with no pitting, and only slight staining, with no damage to the spear point bladed edges. It is otherwise in excellent condition. The hilt has an intact checkered, hard rubber grip. The release button mechanism is working. There is a muzzle ring. Complete with it’s original leather scabbard. This is intact, with good stitching, and no splits. The steel furniture mounts are lightly pitted, with speckling and stain.
