Offered for sale a Fine Pair of Antique Flintlock Holster Pistols by Adam Fitschulcki of Olesnice (Bohemia) with Royal Provenance, Circa 1740-50. Having steel barrels, Beautiful figured walnut stocks and engraved gilt brass lockplates and fittings.

Description

A Pair of Bohemian Flintlock Holster Pistols by Adam Fitschulcki ab Oelse (Olesnice), Circa 1740-50. Barrels formed in imitation of the Brescian fashion, with raised mouldings at the muzzles, ribbed faceted breeches inscribed “Lazarino Cominazzo” , gold-lined vents and fitted with engraved gilt-brass fore-sights. Signed engraved gilt-brass locks with bevelled edges, the cocks and the steels decorated en suite. Figured walnut full stocks with elaborate scrollwork mouldings carved in low relief about the barrel tangs and along the undersides Full gilt-brass mounts, comprising spurred pommels cast and engraved with geometric patterns enclosing low pyramidal caps, flat side-plates pierced and engraved with scrolls and foliage, trigger-guards and faceted ramrod-pipes engraved en suite with the locks and the pommels. Horn fore-end caps, and wooden ramrods (associated). Overall length of each 42cm (16 ½ in.).
Provenance: These Fine Flintlock Holster Pistols came from the Armoury of the Schloss Langenburg in Bavaria, being the Princely House of Hohenlohe-Langenburg and were sold to allow further conservation of the Castle.
