Description

A fine example of this 18th Century British Volunteer, single shot Flintlock pistol. With a 16 Bore, 8-1/4″ round barrel, now to a fine, smooth, silver/grey, unblemished patina. There are 2 clear proof marks to the top rear of the barrel. The Lock is clearly stamped with a Crown & Tower mark. There is a Swan necked hammer with what appears to be an original top jaw and flint. There is a raised waterproof pan, and standard Frizzen and hinged Steel Plate.. The action to 1/2 and full cock is strong and sound.
The original full walnut stock, has minor dings and bruises of use and age, and no cracks or obvious chips, and to a fine mid tone patina.
The standard brass trigger guard and butt stock cap are in vg condition.
The steel tipped wooden ramrod is retained by 2 brass pipes, and standard groove within the forestock.
