It is the 200th Anniversary of the battle of Waterloo in 1815 -2015

Description

This is a nice, clean example of the type of Pistol as carried by the British Cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars, including Waterloo, The Peninsular Wars, and known as the “New Land Pattern 1807”.

With a standard 9 inch round barrel, now to a silver/grey smooth patina, which has 2 proof marks to the top rear LHS, and is smooth bored, as standard.
The lock is clearly stamped with a Royal Crown/GR, issue mark, and Tower mark. There is also a sliding safety catch.
It has a Ring Necked cock, raised rainproof pan, Frizzen, and hinged Steel. Action to 1/2 & full cock is sound and strong, activated by a single steel trigger..
The one piece Walnut stock is in vg condition, now to a nice and pleasant dark patina, with only minor dings of age and use, and no apparent cracks or splits
The furniture is brass, including the butt cap, and trigger guard, plus the forecap.
This example displays the armourers strengthening brass plate, just to the rear of the ramrod groove [ a known weak spot].
There is the standard hinged steel ramrod.
The o/a length is 15 inches.
