Description

A Brass-Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss by T. Richards of London, Circa 1800. With belled three-stage barrel divided by raised mouldings, and fitted with a top-mounted spring bayonet, the bayonet is released by a sliding safety catch on the barrel tang, signed stepped border engraved lock, fitted with a sliding safety catch, full-stocked in walnut and cut with a band of chequering at the grip, border engraved brass mounts throughout including butt plate, trigger guard and ramrod pipes, complete with horn tipped ramrod.

Shops in London and on High Street, Birmingham. Made flintlock coach and duelling pistols with silver mountings, and brass barrel flintlock blunderbuss with top spring bayonet. Under Royal Government contract made flintlock muskets.
