Description
A superb pair of 20 bore silver mounted Holster Pistols by Valentin Marr of Copenhagen, Gunmaker to the Royal Danish Court, circa 1740. The mounts finely engraved overall, long eared butt caps decorated ensuite, carved silver sidenail plates, ornate silver escutcheons with owner’s crests, the barrels with carved breeches on a gold ground. Quite plain signed locks, Swan Neck Cocks and Semi Rainproof pans, full stocks with shell and foliage carving to tangs and forends and original horn tipped Ramrod.
